Through the portal...what worlds are there beyond our seeing?

"While the Sky Dreams" is a landscape/dreamscape composed in three panels, created independently and stitched to a canvas backer. It is created with archival acrylic paints and mediums on fabric. The images are created through a combination of monotype printing and direct painting on fabric. The inspiration for this piece began with the luscious watercolor-wash appearance of the fabric pieces that became the sky. They suggested to me an imaginary landscape. In the foreground, I enjoyed creating rich opaque colors and the contrasts in textures.

More patterns of machine stitching highlight sections of the work. (Zoom in to see the textures!)

This work is mounted on birch plywood , float mounted in a gold frame 37”H x 51”W
