Abstract composition with rich colors suggesting Indian Summer
Framed - Through the Window: Indian Summer
Monotype on Rice paper
20"H x 16"W

"Through the Window: Indian Summer" is a one-of-a-kind original monotype printed with acrylics on Masa rice paper. The “press” for this work is the artist’s hands! I print on a soft printing plate, using a brayer to roll the acrylics on the surface. I create textures in the paint and use hand-cut stencils to form images, pressing rice paper onto the plate multiple times for each print. These playful abstract compositions are inspired by the unpredictable and interesting patterns created by the hand printing process. They also incorporate some direct painting and collaged elements.

Each work is signed on the surface and numbered 1/1, indicating that it is a one-of-a-kind. This ready-to-hang artwork is matted with a super white, conservation mat, bevel cut and framed in a beautiful Antique Gold wood frame. (The interior dimension of the frame is 20”H x 16”W”. The mat cut opening is 13.5”W x 10.5”W”) Hanging hardware is attached. Carefully packed for shipping by the artist.
